Bush-appointed U.S. District Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan will finally leave her job on November 16. The U.S. District Attorney is SUPPOSED TO leave when a new President is elected. However, she initially refused to do so. She was a hard-core right winger who carried out Bush's anti-drug agenda.

This is the same Mary Beth Buchanan that wrongfully sent Tommy Chong to prison for nine months for conspiracy to send bongs in the mail.

This is the same Mary Beth Buchanan that raided Spectrum Labs and confiscated a/k/a Tommy Chong DVDs.

This is the same Mary Beth Buchanan that prosecuted the makers of the Whizzinator.

Mary Beth "loose cannon" (as Tommy Chong calls her) isn't saying what her future plans are.

This past Saturday, Cheech & Chong hosted and performed at the Cypress Hill Smokeout Festival. Earlier in the day, Tommy Chong participated in an expert panel on marijuana.

Tommy was with Cypress Hill's Lou Dog and moderators Steve Bloom and Shirley Halperin.

Cheech & Chong: Get It Legal Tour to Begin Next Year

Cheech & Chong revealed to The Standard that next year's leg of the tour will be called 'Get It Legal.' It will be based on Tommy Chong's wrongful incarceration, as well as poking fun at the nation's drug laws.

They also said they plan to return to the big screen next year.

Cheech & Chong will be at the Cypress Hill Smokeout Festival this weekend and Wendover next weekend.

The web site True/Slant interviewed the legendary Tommy Chong, a/k/a Tommy Chong Director, Josh Gilbert and Congressman Frank about the government and pot.

Among other things, Tommy says “I don’t think it is the government’s business to tell you how to spend your leisure time.” He goes on to say that the pot laws "are all corrupt. The DEA and the Justice Department create a criminal organization that’s licensed to take over someone else’s property. It’s like bouncers at a night club who start a fight so that they can keep their jobs."

According to Josh Gilbert, “So many U.S. agencies have a stake in [pot's] illegalization. The DEA’s budget is 80 percent marijuana.”

Sony to Distribute Machete

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has acquired most international distribution rights for Robert Rodriguez's "Machete."

One of the best and most underrated films of all time was 2007's Grindhouse. The film, which was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, was a double-feature inspired by the low-budget grindhouse films of decades past.

During the "intermission," fake movie trailers were shown. The most popular trailer was Machete. It stars Danny Trejo and Cheech Marin. Cheech Marin is Trejo's gun-toting priest vigilante brother. Memorable quote..."God forgives, I don't."

Story centers on a former Mexican police officer who turns the tables on the masterminds who double-crossed him. Rodriguez, who wrote the screenplay, co-directs with Ethan Maniquis.

Cast includes Danny Trejo, Rose McGowan, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan, Don Johnson and Jeff Fahey.
