The news was all over a
story that involved a video showing a young 17year old
black kid and his buddies giving two toddlers pot. Of
course the police said it was the most disturbing
video they had ever seen. The little kids on the video
had obviously had smoked before because they knew how
to do it. And make no mistake it was distrubing
watching the teenage kids encourage these little guys
to actually smoke the dope. The teenagers now face
felony charges and will no doubt get jail time however
a thought came over me as I watched the video. What
happened to the little kids after they smoked the pot?
were they taken to the hospital? Did the marijuana
affect them in any immediate physical manner?
Apparently not! And apparently this was not the first
time the little guys had toked up. The police
apparently are going to drug test the little guys but
why the police. shouldn't doctors test them and study
the effects that pot has on babies? Wouldn't knowing
the effects of pot on babies serve the public more
than just incarcerating the teenagers.
And what if there were no adverse effects? The little
guys seem to be quite healthy and strong. What if the
pot actually was benificial as it is in treating
cancer patients or ms patients? Wouldn't this be a
great opportunity to find out? But they won't...They
will just stick the teenagers in jail and on probation
and everytime they (teenagers) violate by smoking weed
they will add more time on their sentence and another
young black life will be lost in the system.
Pot is a medicine that science has yet to find a
substitute for. And the reason pot critics don't smoke
themselves is because if and when they do they cease
being critics and instead become...pot smokers!...tc

You are right little ones should not smoke ...anything...but what about the parent that give thier little one a harmless little sip off thier wine cooler or whatever I have seen it happen "innocently" more than enough times.
I think anything that gets you buzzed should stay out of little hands but I also think that when you are 15 16 or even 20 you are not thinking (adult) yet so you should not be made to be responsible as an adult.
The hurriedness to stick peopole in jail in this country is going to boom as long as we have businesses making money from people being in jail.
My wife is a public defender for juveniles and sees this stuff every day she even saves some asses here and there...but there is usually someone there that is trying to stick it to the kids that have done something we used to get sent to the deans office for.
I think if it were legal I would stop smoking it and keep enough around to make herb tea with instead...wow then I wouldn't even be hurting my lungs yep MY lungs not yours or the cops or the president I mean Dictators... if I want to ride a bull it's ok or race a car or smoke a cigar or cigarette....Why not sweet leaf ?

Where were the parents?
It all goes back to
"Do you know where your kids are
at?" and
"What are your kids doing?"
I hope that these dumb, goofy teenagers get probation, volunteer work hours and some classes.
Next time that they want to give away some smoke, they should call me! LMAO.

Yeah, I saw the video also. The news reports said the childrens mother was sleeping in the bedroom and had no knowledge of what was going on in her house. From the reports I heard, the children were taken away and are now in the custody of the state.
I think that kids should not be exposed to weed until they are old enough to understand the effects that pot has. I have been a supporter of legalization of marijuana for decades now, but this was cruel to these youngsters. Much like giving your pet supertokes to entertain yourself during your buzz, this is an issue that I cannot support. Even though grass is a valuable medicine that can improve the quality of life for lots of people suffering a whole shitload of ailments, including being a fantastic relief for depression, I think kids should have the opportunity to decide if living a drug free life is for them, especially if they are that young.
Forgive me if I paraphrase Tommy, but a funny scene you had with Cheech during your twin special appearence with Phillip Michael Thomas on Nash Bridges comes to mind. It's been years since I saw it, but I do remember the scene. You and Cheech were waiting in line outside a medicinal pot place, and Cheech asked something like "Do all of these people really use pot as medicine" You say something like "Oh yeah, man. I even use it to cure my depression" He goes "Really?" Then you gave the punchline "Yeah, I get really depressed when I can't get high" I know it isn't word for word, but still, when I saw it, I laughed my ass off.
Hell Tom, The Governator of Cali wants to change the political rules to allow people not born in the US to run for the presidency. If he gets his way, you could run for that job and really make a difference for the drug culture. Once people are re-educated about the glorious effects of THC, your popularity should be thru the roof. You could put beaded doorways all through the White House, and have a tall bong right by your desk in the Oval Office. Shelby would shine as the most beautiful First Lady since Jackie Kennedy, and you two could create paradise for us all.(I know I am Canadian, but this screwed up policy is steered by the US DEA. If the wall falls in America, we shouldn't be far behind) Just a thought.

SAN FRANCISCO - A California woman whose doctor says marijuana is the only medicine keeping her alive is not immune from federal prosecution on drug charges, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday.
The case was brought by Angel Raich, an Oakland mother of two who suffers from scoliosis, a brain tumor, chronic nausea and other ailments. On her doctor's advice, she eats or smokes marijuana every couple of hours to ease her pain and bolster a nonexistent appetite as conventional drugs did not work.
Raich, 41, began sobbing when she was told of the decision and said she would continue using the drug.
"I'm sure not going to let them kill me," she said. "Oh my God."

i think that kids shouldnt smoke anything, but maybe an occasional "special brownie" would be good for them. pot can be very good for you, but like any and all medications out there, even vitamins, if you over do it the results are never good...
also i dont think that exposure is even bad for them. my dad smoked and grew pot when i was very young and i dont go around robbing old ladies and raping and killing people. i even used to go play in his pot fields outside. i believe that if you actually have the balls as a parent to teach your kids by example the good and bad of drugs and alcohol then they will know what to expect. i had a cousin who's mom only ever told her that drinking was bad and a few days before she turned 13 she snuck off to a party and got drunk for the first time and she ended up poisoning herself. She died twice during the ambulance ride to the hospital. she did survive, but it was quite a fight.
thats just my 2 cents on that matter... i believe the parents are responsible for TEACHING not telling their kids what is right and wrong and even though some people think that parents should know exactly where their kids are at all times i think that you should also instill trust into them at an early age. let them feel freedom bad things will always happen, what you have to teach your kids is how to talk to you. you HAVE to make sure they arent afraid of talking to you. if you do that when they are young then when they become teens(when it usually gets really bad) they will tell you when something bad has happened.
oh and im not saying that this will work for all children. everyone is different. ive seen kids that BECAME alcoholics because dad left a beer sitting there and little Jimmy got curious when he was 5. i used to go into bars with my mom all the time and watch her get shit faced when i was young and im NOT an alcoholic. i dont even like drinking that much.

Sorry, I'm a little bitter right now. About an hour and a half ago, I found out that my dad smokes pot. This might not be a big deal to some of you, but it is to me. I'm that upper middle class smart obsessive goody-good white chick. My dad's not supposed to smoke pot.
My mother's a doctor, my dad just got promoted at a corporation.
Look, there's a huge difference between using pot recreationally and for medicine. There just IS. People with ms and cancer, they have a reason to need it. Regular people just want a high.
Do you know why they keep telling us not to smoke pot? It's not for the fun of it! If pot wasn't that bad for you, they wouldn't push so hard against it!

There's nothing wrong with smoking pot to get high, if it makes you feel good. Feeling good is better than feeling bad, right? And if the reason pot is illegal is because its "bad for us", then why the hell is alcohol legal? Now THERES a dangerous drug that people use to try to get high. (Yes, alcohol is a drug).
I'll tell you something for a fact that will completely destroy the "pot is illegal because its bad for you" argument: I've never heard of anybody dying, getting violent, or suffering serious health problems because of pot. I've heard and seen all 3 happen because of alcohol. Alcohol is man-made, does nothing for nobody, and is legal, (and is HEAVILY TAXED). Pot is a plant that grows freely on this planet, helps people, and gives you a pretty good buzz (which I honestly cant see anything wrong with and dont know why anyone would). And how about all those pharmaceutical companies that make chemicals that are even worse for us than booze? The government seems to support them for some reason (go to wikipedia and look up "fascism"). Oh yeah, our governments are so concerned about our health. Such a sweet benign presence, they are. lol
Okay, lets suppose just for a second that pot was a dangerous drug. Its not, but lets just pretend it is. Who the hell has the right to tell me what I can and cant put in MY body, as long as I dont hurt another human being on this planet?

I've only seen/heard of people getting cancer from cigarettes. Also it doesn't matter what kind of place you work or the person you are everybody needs to cure what ails you.
