Shelby and I are leaving for Bali on Dec..8th. We will
be returning after the New Year but I shall be
blogging when ever I can where ever I am. On thing for
sure is Shelby and I will be doing a new show next
year. The new show is called "Dancing with the
Stoners". We will be doing a spoof on Dancing with the
Stars complete with all the commercials and "behind
the scenes" footage. We will be unveiling the new show
some time in Jan. 07...so stay tuned. I am writing
some of the Cheech and Chong routines into the new
show so it will retain the flavour that we all have
become accustomed to.....peace rules...tc

Cheech On Lost

Well I just been informed former pot head comic turned actor
Cheech Marin has been cast on the hit television show
Lost. How do I feel about that? ...lost! But I feel
good for Cheech because he really likes being the
actor. My son just watched Nice Dreams and was telling
me of all the funny bits in the movie...and laughing
hard while he told me and that is the good news.
Cheech and I did all those movies "that will be around
forever" quoting the Us goverment's indictment against
me. So it doesn't really matter if Cheech and I do
another movie. When ever you feel the need for a
Cheech and Chong fix just watch Up In Smoke, Next
Movie, Nice Drreams, Things are Tough All Over, The
Corcisan Brothers and Still Smoking.....that's what I
do....tc

daily report from the Chong

It's turkey day and I am sitting here enjoying the
aroma from the kitchen....I just read the comments
from the blog and I want to make one correction...You
got to wash your Ass wasn't Red Foxx's first "dirty
comedy album, it was his last! Redd, who was a good
friend of mine, made his first "dirty record" back in
the 50's....it was a bit about a horse race called 'My
Dick"...one of the funniest bit ever in the history of
comedy. Redd made a good 20 or more comedy albums. I
know because I have most of them. I saw Redd in person
at the Twenty Grand night club in Detroit 1967...He
did two hours of the most outrageous comedy I had ever
heard! He brought the people up then he brought them
down...he even opened the door for the one who walked
out on him...then he went back on stage and brought
the audience back up and recieved a stand ovation at
the end of his act. Now there was The comic genius!
More on Michael Richards...I found it ironic that
Jerry Seinfelt had to tell the audience to "stop
laughing" at Kramer on David Letterman..It felt like a
Borak moment when the "bit" became serious to the
actor but funny as hell to the audience and I felt
Larry David's presence at that moment becaue what
"Kramer" did that night was the kind of embarassing
moment Larry David would do....in my mind that
is....this is great 'reality television"isn't it?...tc

more on Richards

Michael "Kramer" Richards now has to live in his own
private hell for a long time. I would imagine he will
get professional help for his "problem" but I had
another though about this. Def Comedy Jam actually
promotes black comics who make a living using the N
word. Now their jokes are funny to people who
understand the culture and the humor however by using
the N word they automatically give licence to racists
who then feel free to say the word when ever they feel
like it.
And there lies the problem. There is a line in comedy
that the "clean" comics will not cross however the
"outlaws of comedy", people like Richard Prior, Sam
Kenisen, Bill Hicks, lived out side that line. It is
very rare to find comics who can straddle that
line....Jay Leno, David Letterman, Johnny Carson never
crossed that line...not that they don't have dirty
jokes in their book it's just the fact there is more
opportunity in the so-called streight world of comedy.
And much more money!
But that world can be a trap that once you get into it
you can never really get out of it! Personally I love
the wild side...I always have..but then again I was a
musician before I was a comic so my brand of humor was
always on the dangerous side...The truth is dying is
easy, comedy's hard!....tc

Michael Richards

The N word strikes again.....Hecklers can be brutal
especially when you are a "comic genius" like Kramer
unfortunatly he wasn't Kramer that night. He was
Michael Richards doing "stand-up" in a comedy club
where he decovered his true self. Now he has to do
some intense personal work to rid himself of the
affliction of racism. I saw racism when I was in jail
and I wrote about it in my book the I-Chong. One
inmate was so racist he refused to sit on the same
toilets as the other black and brown inmates so he did
his business in the showers!
Michael Richards needs forgivness for his "sins" and
the only thing we can do is forgive and forget. This
by the way is for our own good. Michael was insulated
by the hand-picked audiences for the twelve years he
was on Seinfelt so his comedy was not only accepted
but loved for 12 years! That could spoil a comedian
into thinking everything he does is a comedic gem. The
real world of comedy, however, can be brutal,
especially in a comedy club where anybody can yell
anything at the comic even heckling is discouraged by
the club owners. Some comics entire act depends on
"exchanges with the audiences....I saw Michael before
he became Kramer and he reminded me of Andy Kaufman
another wierd genius. You have to "go into their
world" to fully understand where they are coming from
and to some people that is too much to ask. The
hecklers are people who would like to be able to stand
on the stage and perform but are usually to "chicken".
I was one of those people. I was a "heckler". I
remember hecling Charles Barkley at a Clippers game.
We were sitting ringside and I got under Barkley's
skin so bad the guy next to me told me to shut up
becauiise Barkley didn't know where the heckling was
coming from and the guy didn't want to get hurt. I
learned to keep my mouth shut in prison...You don't
heckle in prison unless you want to die!
I have a feeling that we won't be seeing Michael
Richards on stage anytime soon...He insulted and
challanged a whole lot of folks who I am sure would be
sitting in the first row heckling their ass off! Again
though the key to enlightment is through
forgivness...Forgive them Father for they know not
what they do!...tc

This is another test...tc

daily report from the Chong

Well the great news about Cheech and Chong isthis....Cheech turned down a request to do a HBOspecial. Apparently he does not want to "turn back theclock" and do any of the old bits! He offered me apart in a play where we would again not do any of theold characters but would talk about the pre Cheech andChong days! I guess he has opted out of the "stonerimage" for good. Oh well I guess I will have to carryon with out him as I have done for the past 21 years!I had the feeling Cheech was done with Cheech andChong when I saw him on Duets and he did not use me asa credit. His credit was the movie Cars. The movie hepromoted but did not have a credit in it! Strangechoice but another example of how he has "Turned theboat around" His career boat that is! Well on ahappier note Shelby and I performed at the IrvineImprov last week-end. We did four shows and had aball! I gotta tell you I love our "stoneraudience"....we are playing for three generations now!Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and the Kids!Rest assured loyal fans....I will be true to the hempoath I took many many years ago...I will always betrue to the fans who have given so much to me over theyears! And even though I don't partake in the sacredbong ceremony any more my heart and soul are with youwith every toke you take....every toke you take...Ilike that! Every toke you take every brownie youbake...I'll be watching you....tc

daily report from the Chong

Ok It is Wed.Nov 15th./06 I am back home in my office
blogging away! I am a bit upset because I threw the
I-Ching coins and it told me i have ego problems...Man
I thought I had solved that problem but I guess I
haven't. Working on it though! The gig in Tampa went
great! All the shows were packed with old fans, new
fans and book fans! Shelby's set killed! She is
getting too good! But that's o.k because i help write
her stuff so I get a thrill when the bits work! Comedy
is hard man...dying is easy! I read Bill Hicks bio on
the way there and back ( to Tampa). Hicks was a genius
comic man! So much soul and so hip! Hicks changed the
face of comedy! If you haven't seen him check out any
of his dvds. The one called Relentless is my favorite
but they are all good. Hicks died young ( age 32) I
guess from the heavy partying....I met him juct months
before he passed away. I was appearing at Stanford and
Son's Comedy Club in Kansas City and Hicks and his
friend were eating their way across America going to
all the great rib joints! I guess he knew then that
his time was short. I had heard about him but I never
seen him perform. I am a big Hicks fan now though...
I was hoping I would have some great news from the
Cheech and Chong camp however, Cheech is in Mexico
shooting a movie and hasn't gotten back to me about an
offer we recieved. Anyway, I am not holding my
breath..Shelby and I( work at Irvine, Ca this coming
week-end! Come on by and check us out! See how Hicks
has influnced me! It is pretty exciting!....tc

daily report from the Chong

Wow! Today was a special day! We shot footage for the
reality show pilot. Got some nice footage. I took
everyone out to Hawthorne California where I am
building a Chong Art Space...This is going to be the
home of THC Television..where I will be showing
various Chong projects and where we will be creating
these projects. In fact I want to do a project about
the "projects" because the studio is located on the
fringe of the "hood". Steve, my dog from the joint,
has to stay covered when ever he in at the place
because he has tattoos that say 'white power". Not
cool in a neighborhood where the best white power is
the motor in your car getting your ass on out of
there! The studio used to be an airplane hanger where
they build and installed parts for bi-planes. These
are airplanes that "go both ways"...Naw, naw...I'm
only serious! Evan, my partner in the electric
lowrider found this space a couple of years ago and I
fell in love the moment I saw it. We are going to do
it up like an art gallery...and throw 'rent partys"
once a month...So I have some Cheech and Chong news
but I am not going to spill the beans until the deal
is a done deal! so you are going to have to wait until
that happens. It is all very positive though and that
is all i can say at the moment!...I better go before I
write too much and jinxs the whole thing...bye...till later....tc

daily report from the Chong

Wednesday Nov. 8th/06 Democrats take control of the
house! Yea! We did it! The stoner vote made a
difference. I really enjoyed voting this time even
though most of the props I voted for failed we did win
the big ones. Hey what happed to the legalize pot in
Denver and places? I don't know if they won or not. I
have to ask my son ( the computer geek). Anyway it is
a beautiful day. Nice day to reflect on Bush's up
coming impeachment! Oh yes! That day is near believe
me...when the Dems start investigating with thier
people we are going to see heads roll! I can't wait!
We do have to give Bush credit for bringing this
country together. He alone has managed to separate the
brains from the no-brainers and for once the brains
won! Everyone give yourself a hand! You deserve it!
Now all wwe have to do now is elect a women and we
will be in good shape for a while and rreally that is
all we have when you think about it...A while....peace
rules tc

daily report from the Chong

Hey thanks for the comments! Yeah we better do a
reunion for the Up In Smoke gang while we are still
here. Sgt. Stadinko was a name of a nark in Vancouver
who tried busting us when we had a night club there.
He did manage to put a small time pot sales man in for
a year but that was as close as he came to busting me.
We had some close calls though like one time a couple
of my band were out smoking up in the alley when they
noticed a guy crouching down behind a garbage bin
holding a gun! They looked around and found they had
stumbled into a bust! The guy with the gun was a nark!
My boys quickly and quietly made it back to the safety
of the club where the watched out the rear window as
the bust unfolded. I once uncovered an under cover
pair of cops in my club one time! They ( cops) were
dressed like "hippies" with the head bands etc and I
was in the club alone getting it ready to open it that
night. We had decorated it and was going to unveil it
that evening when these two "hippies" showed up and
asked if they could help in anyway..I sat and chatted
with them for a while and they seemed to more
interested in buying hash and pot then actually
working on the club so when I asked them if they had
ever done acid (LSD) their reply tipped me off they
were cops so I put them to work scrubbing and mopping
the whole place. And they were good cleaners too which
really showed me they were no "hippies". That night I
spread the word about our visitors and after a while
they took the hint and left. Oh yeah...their reply
about their first acid trip? " I don't remember"!
Hey that is one trip you never forget!...tc

daily report from the Chong

Man..What a day...Saturday Nov 4th.06..We went to
fire up the ACE electric car and found the car has no
brakes! Gadget and Even tried to bleed the brake lines
but when the took the wheel off they discovered
someone had removed the entire brakeing system. The
springs the brake pads, everything! Damn good thing we
checked first althoug that would have made an exciting
video.
I am excited about driving the Ace the worlds first
electric "lowrider". I am going to put it in car shows
immediately! Well as soon as I get the brake thing
working. You gotta have brakes! In other news...I
messed up my Prius. I backed into another car and
fucked up one door! The good news is I had the
bodyshop remove all the chrome, darken the tail lights
and the windows so now I am driving the first? Maybe
not...anyway the Prius looks like a very cool "custom"
car. I love the sleek look. Now to fix the wheels..hub
caps etc. I am going to post some pictures when the
cars are finished. Oh yeah the uphostery in the Ace
has secret compartments for ...money! Yeah...thats it
money..
We leave for Tampa Fl. for the gigs on the 10, 11, and
12th..I am looking forward to see my old friend and
ex-road manager Jimmy Root. Jimmy was responsible for
that great War song "Lowrider" Jimmy played it for our
act back in 1973...the writers of that song should
send Jimmy some of the money they made.
We are also going to shoot more for the "reality
Chongs show this coming Monday..I got some great
ideas!.....take care and be well....tc
