daily report from the Chong

Man I have been wasted all day! Not stoned wasted but
...wasted...tired! I guess the gig in La Jolla took it
out of me.
I had a ozone treatment today and I slept through it!
Art, the medical guy who does the treatment usually
gives me a lesson on nutrition diet etc but I passed
out before he could say anything. Oh well. Art's tips
are great! Its all about eating live food ( raw) as
opposed to "dead" food ( cooked). I am really into the
"diet" thing mainly because i am getting old and i
want to be a healthy and happy old fart as opposed to
a grumpy unhealthy old fart! Nothing more miserable
than a sick old man! So I am careful what I put into
my body. I do miss my weed however! I miss that
creative feeling weed gives one. That "wow" did I make
that up or did see it somewhere? A good pot high can
inspire genius provided we are starting with genius. I
recently saw a saying that made me stop and ..copy for
this blog.
"You cannot teach the Absolute" " You can only
experience the Absolute" Is this heavy or what? Ok
time to hit the hey...night all...tc

  • Hi Tommy,
"You cannot teach the Absolute, you can only experience it." Brilliant! And so damned true too. It's like the old saying (which I'm sure I'm butchering the shit out of) that the Big Kahuna isn't just stranger and more fascinating than we imagine, it's stranger and more fascinating than we possibly COULD imagine.

You say "A good pot high can inspire genius provided we are starting with genius." I think that's absolutely right. Pot's definitely not something that magically bestows creativity... you have to have it to begin with. But if you DO have it to begin with, then pot can be a very handy tool for amping up the ol' creative process. I find this to be true in my own writing. Oftentimes, if I'm stuck for something to write, a little hit or three will help me break the writer's block. And if things ARE flowing, then I love to get a little baked when I go over what I've written and revise it.

But it's all connected to shit that I can already do. If I couldn't write at all, pot obviously wouldn't suddenly grant me the ability. It's sort of like the way we have to meet The Absolute halfway on whatever we do if we want to tap into it, y'know?

  • Dear Tommy,

I am glad you are enjoying your health in every way health is available to you, I hope you live as long as you like.

One health-oriented hemp issue I have is the smoking. It is hard on the lungs. Luckily, one can cook with hemp-infused butter. It is very nice. It takes a little longer to work its magic but . . .

I love the idea of the inspired genius. All I know is that the herb just makes you look again at what you think you already know. Whenever you do that, you tend to see something you may have never seen before, maybe something no one has seen before. It allows you to learn and to create without having to wait to be taught. That's Genius.

In my experience, inspired genius is one essential difference between Buddha and Duh-bya (or the Chong and the Cheney?).

"You cannot teach the Absolute, You can only experience the Absolute" Man, that's the good stuff. And language, for all its power and wonder, is just a bumpersticker on this big ol' bus we're all riding on.

    Peace and Love
